    Hi Bhasker,
You haven’t mentioned PGDBA program jointly offered by IIT Kharagpur, IIM Calcutta, ISI Kolkata. The first batch got amazing offers for 6 month internships and very good industry response. The big corporations like Mckinsey, Deloitte , PwC, MasterCard, American Express, Rediff, Walmart Labs, JP Morgan Chase, UHG, Yes Bank, Dunia Finance and many more made offers with very attractive benefits. 12% of first batch got international offers in cities like Paris, Dubai. The profiles vary from data scientist intern, risk analysts, strategy business analysts, algorithmic traders etc. The students performed very well. The 3 teams represented India at Data Science Game 2016 at Paris out of which 2 are from this batch, won Quantify 2016 organised by Goldman Sachs, won Brainwaves 2016 machine learning competition organised by SG GSC, won IIM B Machine Learning contests, Google hackathon and many more. A few students even published research papers and most of the students are actively participating on kaggle, Analytics Vidya etc.
Even After such an impressive performance and 1.5 yrs since start of this course almost none of the blogs related to Data Science/Analytics education in India mentioned this course. Amazing.

The list is amazing. But there is no mention of Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics jointly offered by India’s Three Premier Institutes i.e IIM-Calcutta,IIT-Kharagpur and Indian Statistical Institute-Kolkata. These institutes covers three pillars of analytics (Business,Technology and Stats) respectively. I hope this course should be in the top of list.

  12. Ajay says:

    Hi Bhaskar ,

I have 11 years of experience in Sales ,BD & Marketing function with background in Electrical Industry. My major exposure and interest is in BD function.I am B tech in electrical and PGDM 1 year. Now looking forward to shift to business Analytic carrer , please guide how to go about this phase shift.

    1. Bhasker Gupta Bhasker Gupta says:

11 years in BD function is long. I would suggest not to let that go and focus on BD in analytics industry. There’s many opening in this area. Folks aspiring to get into analytics, try to get into more technical roles, and roles like BD / sales are left behind.
My 2 cents, you might have other plans.

      1. Ajay says:

Sir Thx for reply . Actually I hv 5 yrs of BD experience out of total 11 yrs experience. Now looking for technical profile . Can u suggest which course /training would be best while utilising my current BD experience. PL suggest institutions also.

Then I came to know that IIM Kolkata is also providing the same course and the fee is also half.

Could you please let me know is it worth doing from IIM kolkata? Please suggest?

    1. Bhasker Gupta Bhasker Gupta says:

Not sure if I am aware of this one. The one I know is offered by IIM kolkata , IIT kharagpur & ISI . The fees is on the higher side for that.

Aegis has a good focus on Telecom, incase that’s the domain you are interested in. Else, the above ranking is what I believe should help you decide.

I am an IT professional with 6 years of experience in User interface Programming. Can I take this “Business Analytics”??..How does that help me to build career??…..Would you suggest me to go for full time course or part time course??……how good will be the job opportunities??…I will be grateful if you can suggest me..

    1. Bhasker Gupta Bhasker Gupta says:

I would personally suggest anyone with interest in analytics to go for training, irrespective of the background. Understand there’s a fair bit of overlap in skillsets around stats, programming on technical front. So if you have it, go for it.
I suggest start with a part time course.

      1. Dr.Hackenbush says:

        Thanks Bhaskar
