Engineer.ai is co-founded by Sachin Dev Duggal in 2012 and the founder has brought an “assembly line vision to software development so that the 140 million new small businesses formed globally every year can build out their ideas into tangible products”.
According to news reports, the low code no code AI platform has raised a funding of $29.5 million led by Lakestar and Jungle Ventures along with Softbank’s DeepCore. Reports indicate the investment will be used for deepening engineering operations and drive customer acquisition, Sachin Dev Duggal, Founder of Engineer.ai noted in reports. The company is planning expansion in Asia Pacific region, especially India, South East Asia including China.
Builder’s customers include biggies like Eros Now, Videocon, HSBC, SF Giants, Deutsche Bank as well as hundreds of small businesses & entrepreneurs.
The startup was formerly known as SD Squared and rechristened Engineer.ai. Engineer.ai was launched in June 2018 and in a span of six months has developed a substantial user base across many geographies. The key selling point of Builder solution — billed as a Low Code, No Code platform that it enables users without technical skills to build customised apps built for Android, iOS and other platforms.
The product Builder, launched in Beta in 2016 combines AI with the best human teams of developers, designers and product managers globally, to offer software development at twice the speed and one third the cost, thereby streamlining, automating and reducing cost. “Customers can build a variety of application or a software using the Builder. SMB customers can leverage the builder platform to build software for customer or internal facing requirements as well,” he said.
