Data Science is the new buzzword in the technology industry and different kinds of supervised; semi-supervised and unsupervised algorithms, either in isolation or in amalgamation will revolutionize and disrupt our way of life in the times to come. As businesses and services aim more for the ‘connected world’, the overlapping of the physical and digital layers around us are likely to gain more relevance.
For the third consecutive year, ZS a global sales and marketing firm, is excited to launch
Data Science Challenge 2018 which is a pan India event inviting students from tier-1 schools. Through this challenge, ZS receives more than 10,000 registrations of budding data scientists from over 100 schools every year.
The challenge offers a two-pronged approach – an online version kicking off on July 20 and an offline Data-a-thon on August 3 and 4. It’s a unique opportunity for the participants to solve a real data science problem, interact with the ZS Data Science leadership team, experience the firm’s culture and win a
pre-placement interview call letter along with some cool tech gadgets!
ZS has set up an Advanced Data Science track that creates practical and innovative data science solutions, and engages in research and experimentation of state-of-the-art artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques.
Roadmap for 2018
During the challenge, the participants will build a model using the provided sample data sets. The offered problem statement has been designed to:
- Evaluate how participants pre-process and generate relevant features and insights for modelling from data
- Test participant knowledge of machine learning and statistics
- Assess participant proficiency in identifying the right technique for finding a solution and in translating the findings from the business point of view
As a part of the online challenge, participants will submit their solution to the problem. After ZS reviews the online entries, the top candidates will be invited to the ZS Pune office to participate in the next phase of the challenge. In the offline Data-a-thon, candidates will brainstorm solutions of another challenging data science problem.
Who can participate?
The final year students from any discipline of graduation based in India, with hands-on knowledge in machine learning and data science tools and techniques. Even if you are not a 2019 graduate, there is an opportunity to make it to the list of top data scientists of the country, interview with ZS for a Data Scientist role and participate in the offline Data-a-thon.
